Hi all!

Once again we meet here through the medium a.k.a 'blogspot.com'.

First of all, many of our friends and visitors of this blog kept asking why we do not  keep updating our blog often like other groups. Everytime we were asked the same questions we would give the same answers. Actually there are several problems that we currently face in our group, which are :-

1.Our group members consist of 4 people only. Unlike other groups which consist of at least 6 to 8 persons in a group. Initially, we never thought that the number of members would have a great impact towards the work progress. However, it really MATTERS.

2. Hard to find a suitable time to have discussion among the members. We were devided into our group based on our degree program, which is The Bachelor of Applied Science with Islamic Studies. But we are majoring in different fields of studies. For example, Fariha is majoring in genetics, Suriani majoring in Environmental Science and Rafrizal is studying in Biohealth Science. We dont even have the same class except for APK which is quite hard for us.

3. Seriously, this is the first time we have a blog. Though only one of us have had a blog before which is never active, but we are still in the learning process on how to use and maintain our blog.

In brief, I hope the lists we have given above might answer some of your questions =)

P/S : Stay tuned!! Our ideas are flowing!!

Reflection 02-11-2012

As the class started, Bernard was telling us about his breakfast meeting with someone from the Digital Malaysia before coming.

We looked a little bit blur as he talked about that Digital Malaysia thing. so, we did some research. thanks to Google by the way. hee :)

according to Bernard, Digital Malaysia has about RM 300K to be given away. The government is going to farm any brilliant yet simple idea that has to do with contents of digital. This is a big opportunities he said. They're searching for young talents with great ideas. yeah! he was referring to us :)

A big opportunities for ideas

suddenly he threw us a challenge. since we're the Academy of Islamic Studies (API) students, so, the challenge was relating to the field that close to us.

how can we improve the learning of pendidikan islam in schools through technology?

but he said, the mobile technology would be less applicable since most of the students who attend schools don't own smartphones.

so, then, we are given a task which is:
Discuss? Think of way to improve islamic studies via technology in 30 minutes
If you’re going to be in the education field after graduation?

later then, some groups had presented their ideas..

The heart of learning and education

Target – school children, parents and teachers.
  1. Great ideas – develop a game with the Islamic values. Make a “must play” time for all student, provide them with tools to play
  2. i-tube – upload videos on ibadah, sirah, aqeeda, etc.
  3. islamic version of google – search set for only Islamic items.

Some history telling moment we had with Bernard

it was on Google itself.
In 2004, there were university students made their target to scan about  15millions book up until 2015, turned those books into e-books, but their idea was stopped by the publishing industry since there would cause a huge problem including the book selling, royalty etc.

As we reached the last session for the day, Bernard asked us to prepare for the next class which was go and see application store on the net, then type the word "Islam", then examine the technology that has been developed from that on word search.

Not forget to mention, the mobile industry in the world is up. Now, in 2012, Malaysia’s worth 1.2 billions US dollars in mobile industry. So forth, they expect later in 2014, mobile industry in Malaysia will be up to 8 billion US dollars.

so, where are us in the 2014 apps?

Let’s go to where the opportunity is. As the digital Thing is the most Gangho now :)

Innovative idea + digital content = :) better life for entrepreneurs..

Batik is Not Outdated

Whoever claimed by wearing batik, you’ll look “kampung” and old-fashioned, we strongly against you!

Why?

We’ll show you what is it that made batik so unique. Feast your eyes with these delightful pictures :)

hand-drawn batik

block-printed batik

block-printed tools

not only on fabrics

The Uniqueness of Batik : Canting and Copper Block

In Malaysia, usually there’s two major types of batik:-

1.Hand-drawn
2.Block-printed

As the first type looks very classy and elegant, it suits the way it is made. CANTING is the art of fabric drawing which is so unique. The designs are specially created to make them more exclusive. The fabric is drawn with hot liquid wax by using a metal object called CANTING. The artists use their own creativity to make the fabric drawing, making it possesses its own intricate delicacy .  Therefore, each of the hand-drawn batik has its own unique identity. The artists draw the designs with full of patience and extra careful to make their works worth buying. That’s why this kind of batik will cost you a little bit high.

But still, you will not regret having this in your closet since the quality you get, is the best they can offer.

The second type of batik is the one that we called block-printed batik. The canting will be replaced by a copper block or sometimes a wooden stamp with artistically patterned bottom. The block-printed fabrics will have similar shapes or patterns as the block is repeatedly used on that particular fabric.

You’ll become the centre of attraction when you wear batik.Don’t believe me? Just give it a try then :)

have a nice reading you guys :)
